The dua before sleeping with transliteration (also spelled du’a) is recommended to say when you are about to go to sleep. These supplications are part of the daily Sunnah and helps bring peace, protection, and blessings during rest.

Hold the palms together, blow (with a little spittle) into them, and recite the following duas.

1 –  Surah Al-Ikhlas (Dua before sleeping with transliteration)

“In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

The Self-Sufficient Master, Whom all creatures need,
He begets not nor was He begotten,
and there is none equal to Him.Bismillāhir-Raḥmānir-Raḥīm.
Qul huwallāhu aḥad.
Allāhuṣ-ṣamad.
Lam yalid wa lam yūlad.
Wa lam yakun lahu kufuwan aḥad.

Then pass your hands over as much of your body as you can reach, beginning with the head and the face, then the entire front of your body. Do this three times.

In Islam, supplication, or du’a, lets a believer communicate personally and directly with Allah. It expresses humility, need, and trust in the Creator. Unlike the formal five daily prayers, Muslims can say du’as anytime and in any language. Many du’as originate from Arabic and come from the Qur’an and Hadith.

Muslims use du’a to seek guidance, ask forgiveness, request help, or show gratitude. One special time for du’a is before sleep, when believers recite the dua before sleeping with transliteration. This prayer seeks Allah’s protection and peace. Supplication reflects the deep relationship between a believer and God. It reminds Muslims of Allah’s closeness and mercy, affirming that no request is too small or too great for His attention.
