Many wonder, “Who was the first angel created by Allah?”.

Is There a Clear Answer?

No verse or authentic Hadith or verse of the Quran that directly states which angel was created first.

Why Doesn’t the Quran Specify?

Allah emphasizes the purpose of angels rather than their creation order. Angels exist to worship Allah and carry out divine commands, not to compete in status.

Key Takeaways

No definitive Islamic text confirms the first angel.

Jibril and Israfil are strong possibilities but as they are not mentioned in the Quran or Hadith we can’t know for sure. For all we know it could be another angel entirely, who isnt even mentioned in the Islam books. As its not something Allah has mentioned it is not something that we would benefit from know. Further more it does not take away from us being able to practice our religion and therefore not really something worth trying to figure out.

Focus on the wisdom behind Allah’s creation, not just chronological order.

Instead of fixating on unknown details, Muslims should reflect on the greatness of Allah’s creation and the obedience of angels. Their devotion teaches us humility and submission to Allah’s will.
