Sunan Ibn Majah: Book 4, Hadith 44
“ مَنْ خَرَجَ مِنْ بَيْتِهِ إِلَى الصَّلاَةِ فَقَالَ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ بِحَقِّ السَّائِلِينَ عَلَيْكَ وَأَسْأَلُكَ بِحَقِّ مَمْشَاىَ هَذَا فَإِنِّي لَمْ أَخْرُجْ أَشَرًا وَلاَ بَطَرًا وَلاَ رِيَاءً وَلاَ سُمْعَةً وَخَرَجْتُ اتِّقَاءَ سُخْطِكَ وَابْتِغَاءَ مَرْضَاتِكَ فَأَسْأَلُكَ أَنْ تُعِيذَنِي مِنَ النَّارِ وَأَنْ تَغْفِرَ لِي ذُنُوبِي إِنَّهُ لاَ يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوبَ إِلاَّ أَنْتَ – أَقْبَلَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ بِوَجْهِهِ وَاسْتَغْفَرَ لَهُ سَبْعُونَ أَلْفَ مَلَكٍ ” .

The above hadith is from the Sunan Ibn Majah collection of hadiths. Within the esteemed group of the six canonical hadith collections, Sunan Ibn Majah occupies a unique position. Compiled by the scholar Ibn Majah, who died in 273 AH, this work assembles approximately 4,000 hadiths addressing a comprehensive set of topics. These narratives provide vital insights into Islamic faith, the proper observance of rituals, the cultivation of good character, and complex social issues. Its reputation, however, is nuanced. It is universally respected yet simultaneously acknowledged to have a higher number of weak narrations compared to Sahih al-Bukhari, Sahih Muslim, and the other Sunan works.
