Sunan Ibn Majah: Book 36, Hadith 144
Allah (ﷺ) said: “The first signs to appear will be at the rising of the sun from the west and the emergence of the Beast to the people, at forenoon.’” ‘Abdullah said: “Whichever of them appears first, the other will come soon after.” ‘Abdullah said: “I do not think it will be anything other than the sun rising from the west.”
“ أَوَّلُ الآيَاتِ خُرُوجًا طُلُوعُ الشَّمْسِ مِنْ مَغْرِبِهَا وَخُرُوجُ الدَّابَّةِ عَلَى النَّاسِ ضُحًى ” . قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ فَأَيَّتُهُمَا مَا خَرَجَتْ قَبْلَ الأُخْرَى فَالأُخْرَى مِنْهَا قَرِيبٌ . قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ وَلاَ أَظُنُّهَا إِلاَّ طُلُوعَ الشَّمْسِ مِنْ مَغْرِبِهَا .

Compiled by the scholar Ibn Majah, who died in 273 AH, this work assembles approximately 4,000 hadiths addressing a comprehensive set of topics.
