Sunan an-Nasa’i: Book 42, Hadith 13
“ إِذَا أَرْسَلْتَ كَلْبَكَ فَذَكَرْتَ اسْمَ اللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ فَقَتَلَ وَلَمْ يَأْكُلْ فَكُلْ وَإِنْ أَكَلَ مِنْهُ فَلاَ تَأْكُلْ فَإِنَّمَا أَمْسَكَهُ عَلَيْهِ وَلَمْ يُمْسِكْ عَلَيْكَ ” .

The above hadith is from the Sunan an-Nasa’i collection of hadiths. Imam Ahmad ibn Shu’ayb al-Nasa’i’s magnum opus, the Sunan an-Nasa’i, is an indispensable part of the Kutub al-Sittah, the six major books of hadith revered in Sunni Islam.
