Sunan an-Nasa’i: Book 42, Hadith 10
“ إِذَا أَرْسَلْتَ كَلْبَكَ فَسَمَّيْتَ فَكُلْ وَإِنْ أَكَلَ مِنْهُ فَلاَ تَأْكُلْ فَإِنَّمَا أَمْسَكَ عَلَى نَفْسِهِ وَإِذَا أَرْسَلْتَ كَلْبَكَ فَوَجَدْتَ مَعَهُ غَيْرَهُ فَلاَ تَأْكُلْ فَإِنَّكَ إِنَّمَا سَمَّيْتَ عَلَى كَلْبِكَ وَلَمْ تُسَمِّ عَلَى غَيْرِهِ ” .

The above hadith is from the Sunan an-Nasa’i collection of hadiths. Sunan an-Nasa’i is one of the six major Hadith collections in Sunni Islam, compiled by the renowned Islamic scholar Ahmad ibn Shu’ayb al-Nasa’i in the 9th century.
