Sahih Muslim: Book 54, Hadith 42
قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْحَمِيدِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي أَبِي، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ،
يَسَارٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ نَوْفَلٍ، قَالَ كُنْتُ وَاقِفًا مَعَ أُبَىِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ فَقَالَ لاَ يَزَالُ
النَّاسُ مُخْتَلِفَةً أَعْنَاقُهُمْ فِي طَلَبِ الدُّنْيَا . قُلْتُ أَجَلْ . قَالَ إِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى
الله عليه وسلم يَقُولُ
“ يُوشِكُ الْفُرَاتُ أَنْ يَحْسِرَ عَنْ جَبَلٍ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ فَإِذَا سَمِعَ بِهِ النَّاسُ
سَارُوا إِلَيْهِ فَيَقُولُ مَنْ عِنْدَهُ لَئِنْ تَرَكْنَا النَّاسَ يَأْخُذُونَ مِنْهُ لَيُذْهَبَنَّ بِهِ كُلِّهِ قَالَ فَيَقْتَتِلُونَ
عَلَيْهِ فَيُقْتَلُ مِنْ كُلِّ مِائَةٍ تِسْعَةٌ وَتِسْعُونَ ” . قَالَ أَبُو كَامِلٍ فِي حَدِيثِهِ قَالَ وَقَفْتُ أَنَا وَأُبَىُّ
بْنُ كَعْبٍ فِي ظِلِّ أُجُمِ حَسَّانَ .

The above hadith is from the Sahih Muslim collection of hadiths. Imam Muslim ibn al-Ḥajjāj is the scholar responsible for the esteemed compilation titled Sahih Muslim, which he finished around the year 875. This book is a critical component of the Kutub al-Sittah.
