ابْنُ وَهْبٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي يُونُسُ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، كُلُّهُمْ
عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، . بِمِثْلِ حَدِيثِ مَالِكٍ غَيْرَ أَنَّ فِي حَدِيثِ مَعْمَرٍ
“ إِنَّمَا عُذِّبَ بَنُو إِسْرَائِيلَ ”

The above hadith is from the Sahih Muslim collection of hadiths. Imam Muslim ibn al-Ḥajjāj is the scholar responsible for the esteemed compilation titled Sahih Muslim, which he finished around the year 875. This book is a critical component of the Kutub al-Sittah. These six collections are the most important hadith sources for Sunni Muslims and include the works of al-Bukhari, Muslim, Abu Dawood, al-Tirmidhi, al-Nasa’i, and ibn Majah.
