Riyad as-Salihin: Book 2, Hadith 21

Ibn ‘Abbas (May Allah be pleased with them) reported: Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, “When one of you finishes eating, he should not wipe his fingers until he has licked them himself or has given them to someone else to lick for him.”

عن ابن عباس رضى الله عنهما قال‏:‏ قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم‏:‏ ‏
“‏إذا أكل أحدكم طعاماً، فلا يمسح أصابعه حتى يلعقها أو يلعقها‏”‏‏.‏ ‏((متفق عليه))

Riyad as-Salihin, The Gardens of the Righteous is a collection of hadith compiled by Imam Yahya ibn Sharaf al-Nawawi in the 12th century. The work was composed over a 44 year period and consists of around 1900 hadith split into 20 books.
