Muwatta Malik: Book 54, Hadith 6
Malik related to me from Ishaq ibn Abdullah ibn Abi Talha that Rafi ibn Ishaq, the mawla of ash-Shifa informed him that he and Abdullah ibn Abi Talha had gone to visit Abu Said al-Khudri while he was ill. Abu Said said to them, “The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, informed us, ‘The angels do not enter a house which contains pictures or images.’ ” Ishaq was not sure which of them Abu Said said.
حَدَّثَنِي مَالِكٌ، عَنْ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ، أَنَّ رَافِعَ بْنَ إِسْحَاقَ، مَوْلَى الشِّفَاءِ أَخْبَرَهُ قَالَ دَخَلْتُ أَنَا وَعَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ، عَلَى أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ نَعُودُهُ فَقَالَ لَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ أَخْبَرَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم
“ أَنَّ الْمَلاَئِكَةَ لاَ تَدْخُلُ بَيْتًا فِيهِ تَمَاثِيلُ أَوْ تَصَاوِيرُ ” . شَكَّ إِسْحَاقُ لاَ يَدْرِي أَيَّتَهُمَا قَالَ أَبُو سَعِيدٍ .
“ أَنَّ الْمَلاَئِكَةَ لاَ تَدْخُلُ بَيْتًا فِيهِ تَمَاثِيلُ أَوْ تَصَاوِيرُ ” . شَكَّ إِسْحَاقُ لاَ يَدْرِي أَيَّتَهُمَا قَالَ أَبُو سَعِيدٍ .
