Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal: Book 4, Hadith 58

It was narrated from `Uthman bn `Affan (رضي الله عنه) that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: Nubaih bin Wahb narrated that the eye of `Umar bin Ubaidullah became inflamed when he was in ihram, and he wanted to apply kohl to it, but Aban bin `Uthman (رضي الله عنه) forbade him to do that and told him to apply aloes to it. He said that `Uthman (رضي الله عنه) narrated from the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) that he had done that.

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ خَالِدًا، عَنْ أَبِي بِشْرٍ الْعَنْبَرِيِّ، عَنْ حُمْرَانَ بْنِ أَبَانَ، عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عَفَّانَ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ مَنْ مَاتَ وَهُوَ يَعْلَمُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ دَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ‏.‏
