Jami` at-Tirmidhi: Book 49, Hadith 18

Narrated Ibn ‘Abbas: “The Prophet (ﷺ) died when he was sixty-five years old.”

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ، عَنْ هِشَامٍ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ قُبِضَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَهُوَ ابْنُ خَمْسٍ وَسِتِّينَ وَهَكَذَا حَدَّثَنَا هُوَ يَعْنِي ابْنَ بَشَّارٍ وَرَوَى عَنْهُ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ ‏.‏

The above hadith is from the Jami` at-Tirmidhi collection of hadiths. Compiled in the 9th century by the esteemed Islamic scholar Imam Abu Isa Muhammad ibn Isa al-Tirmidhi, the Jami` at-Tirmidhi is a foundational collection of hadith. It holds a position of immense value within Sunni Islam as one of the six canonical books known as the Kutub al-Sittah.
