Jami` at-Tirmidhi: Book 43, Hadith 54
“ لَعَنَ اللَّهُ الْوَاصِلَةَ وَالْمُسْتَوْصِلَةَ وَالْوَاشِمَةَ وَالْمُسْتَوْشِمَةَ ” . قَالَ نَافِعٌ الْوَشْمُ فِي اللِّثَةِ . قَالَ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ . وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ وَمَعْقِلِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ وَأَسْمَاءَ بِنْتِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ وَابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ .

Its compiler, Imam al-Tirmidhi, undertook this significant work during the 9th century. This places it alongside other foundational texts like Sahih al-Bukhari, Sahih Muslim, Sunan Abu Dawood, Sunan an-Nasa’i, and Sunan ibn Majah.
