These six collections—Sahih al-Bukhari, Sahih Muslim, Sunan Abu Dawood, Sunan al-Tirmidhi, Sunan an-Nasa’i, and Sunan ibn Majah—are the pillars of Sunni hadith scholarship. Al-Tirmidhi’s contribution is especially known for its organization and scope.
