Sunan Ibn Mājah is one of the six major hadith collections in Sunni Islam (al-Kutub al-Sittah), compiled by Imam Ibn Mājah al-Qazwini (d. 273 AH). It contains over 4,000 hadiths covering a wide range of topics, including worship, legal rulings, ethics, and eschatology. While it includes many authentic narrations, it is also known for having a higher proportion of weak hadith compared to the other five collections in the canonical six. Nevertheless, it is highly valued for its unique narrations and its contribution to the preservation and classification of prophetic traditions.

Book 8, The Chapters Regarding Zakāt, covers the obligations and distribution of the annual charity due from wealth.
